Nicholas Sparks has a storytelling gift! His book "The Notebook" turns into a magical movie. It is the story of Noah and Allie, an elderly couple in a nursing home. Because of Allie's Alzheimer's disease, Noah reads her their personal love story day after day. This story, written in a notebook, tells of Noah and Allie's sweet courtship as teenagers, and their struggles with class and mores. Their lives take separate paths in adulthood, until a soon-to-be married Allie sees a newspaper article about Noah's renovations to a house that was meaningful in their courtship. Her return to the house rekindles the fires of romance, leading to a long life together. The story is made bittersweet, knowing that at the present time, Allie's illness only allows momentary recognition of her true love.
