Chris Flynn (Desmond Harrington) is on his way to a job interview, driving through the peaks of West Virginia. Due to a mishap on the highway, he chooses a different path, which escorts him through a deserted road in the middle of the forest. He shortly meets a group of friends on an excursion, which includes Jessie (Eliza Dushku), whose car is broken down on the road. The group goes for help; they find an old cottage inaccessible in the woods and realize that the cabin has many ghastly horrors within. The cottage is habitat to a cluster of cannibalistic mountain men, who are terribly disfigured due to generations of inbreeding. The victims of these men are eaten once killed. The group realizes that the ones who possess the cottage will not be friendly. They spend a couple of days running from the mountain men, with two people from the group falling prey to the men. Chris and Jessie make it out of the woods alive and end up destroying the cannibals and their cottage. However a solitary cannibal survives, as revealed in the ending.
