Death Sentence is the story of one father's quest for vengeance against a local gang after his son's death. Kevin Bacon plays Nick Hume, the all-American, successful father, with the perfect job, house, wife and two sons. While bringing his older son home from a hockey game, they stop at a gas station that a local gang robs. Hume's son is killed as an initiation killing by new gang member Joe Darley. When Joe Darley goes to trial, Hume decides not to bear witness against him, instead chooses to kill him in retribution. Darley's death, however, starts off a chain reaction of eye-for-an-eye, as the gang attempts to avenge his death. The situation becomes tenser and tenser, as Hume descends deeper and deeper into desperation, fear, and rage.
